Parent committee

Conectados. Cultivando.

Our mission

The Parent Committee strengthens the Erie community by empowering families through education, networking and communication in order to transform lives.

What do we do?

The Parent Committee takes an active role in important school decisions and partipates in planning family and school events. Together we support our children’s school community and education.

Our goals

Caregiver involvement is essential to a child’s academic success and should be fostered from the beginning of your child's school experience. We believe that caregiver's participation, volunteerism and leadership will enhance Erie’s school community and atmosphere. We encourage all caregivers to get involved – your support is indispensable to us.

Parent Committee meetings & events

Parent Committee meetings are open to every Erie caregiver. We hold meetings once a month. Please check the school’s external calendar to stay up to date with our next meeting and social events. Can't make it to the meeting? Join us virtually or catch up on the meeting minutes afterwards.

Become a Room Parent

Each year, we look for parents to serve as Room Parents. The main purpose of a Room Parent is to be the liaison between classroom parents, your classroom teacher, and the Parent Committee. Room Parents help promote healthy and positive relationships among staff, students and families. Plan and promote classroom parties and events, organize volunteers, and energize the grade-level and class community around special events throughout the year. Get involved today!

Rules of engagement

The Parent Committee is open to all Erie families. All members of the community develop, internalize, model and put into practice the Habits of Heart, Mind, and Work. We are committed to maintaining an environment that is free from discrimination on the basis of sex, age, race, religion, disability, national origin, military status, sexual orientation or other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law.
