Mission Statement

At the elementary level, it is critical to develop learners who explore, inquire and are able to work collaboratively to construct knowledge and develop skills. At EECS it is not enough to learn concepts from books and memorize facts. It is necessary to approach all content areas from both a foundation of discipline-specific knowledge and an inquiry-based, hands-on approach.

EECS Philosophy

High Expectations
EECS holds high academic and personal standards for each student and educator

Authentic Curriculum
EECS is committed to providing a curriculum that is rigorous and developmentally appropriate for its students

Communication
A strong relationship between student, parent and teacher facilitates academic, social and cultural development.

Databased Inquiry
EECS uses this process to analyze data. This type of analysis shifts from asking ‘how’ something is implemented to ‘what impact’ it has on students.

Looping
EECS student stays with the same teacher for two years, allowing increased student achievement, meaningful relationships and more parental involvement.

Mentoring
Every student will have an adult advocate and mentor

Value-Driven Culture
A “Habits of Work, Mind, and Heart” framework creates a culture characterized by leadership and responsible interactions.
