Dear Families,
My name is Susan Pryor and I will be your child's kindergarten teacher in the Loyola classroom this year. Your child will also benefit from the talents of two additional teachers in the classroom, Lucy Amaro (Teacher Assistant) and Sara Robles (Intern). Together, the three of us will work to inspire growth in the hearts and minds of all children in our classroom while also nurturing their development as bilinguals.
Families are a child's first and most important teachers, so we invite you to take an active role in your child's kindergarten year. You may visit and volunteer in the classroom as much as you are able to-helping hands are always welcome and needed! Since young children learn best through concrete experiences, we take many field trips throughout the year that provide opportunities for you to share in your child's learning.
Good relationships between teachers and families are key in children's success in school, so it is important that we maintain regular communication throughout the year. You may always reach us by e-mail at spryor@eriecharterschool.org or lamaro@eriecharterschool.org and we will respond to your email within 48 hours. You may also call us at school during regular business hours at 773-486-7161. Finally, your child will have a home-school communication binder (Eagle Binder) that will go home everyday. This binder will contain your child's homework, important news and information, and a communication log where you can write notes to us.

Mi nombre es Susan Pryor y yo seré la maestra de su hijo/a este año escolar. Su hijo/a también beneficiará de los talentos de dos maestras adicionales en nuestro salón, Lucy Amaro (Asistente de Maestra) y Sara Robles (Pasante). Juntas, las tres trabajaremos para inspirar el desarrollo en los corazones y las mentes de todos los niños en el salón a la vez que fomentaremos su desarrollo como personas bilingües.
Los padres de familia son los maestros principales y más importante de los niños. Por lo tanto, los invitamos a tomar un papel activo en la vida escolar de su hijo/a. Usted puede visitar y ser voluntario/a en el salón de clases tanto como pueda-¡siempre invitamos la ayuda de un par de manos más! Como los niños pequeños aprenden mejor a través de experiencias concretas, participaremos en muchas excursiones durante todo el año que proporcionaran oportunidades para que usted comparta en el aprendizaje de su hijo/a.
Las buenas relaciones entre las maestras y las familias son clave para que los niños tengan éxito en la escuela. Por lo tanto, es importante que mantengamos una comunicación continua durante todo el año. También nos puede llamar a la escuela durante las horas de oficina al 773-486-7161. Finalmente, su hijo tendrá una carpeta de comunicación (Carpeta de las águilas) que irá a casa todos los días. Esta carpeta contendrá la tarea de su hijo/a, noticias e información importante, y un registro de comunicación donde podrá escribirnos notas.
